Rage of Ladies’ Night

“Oh, yes, it’s Ladies’ Night,

And the feeling’s right,

Oh, yes, it’s Ladies’ Night

Oh, what a night (oh, what a night)

It seemed a long time ago Kool & the Gang belted the soulful R&B tune. These days, a different sort of Ladies’ Night––a promotional event common to bars and nightclubs, where female patrons pay less than male patrons for the cover charge or drinks––has become the rage in Lagos as a marketing tool mercilessly rehashed by leisure centres.

Sharp Corner Hotel, Ipaja’s centre of leisure, became the latest entrant on the bandwagon with the introduction of its Ladies Night and Night Club in the second week of November.
