The Minister of Trade, Industry and Investments, Doris Uzoka-Anite, who has begun a four day tour of manufacturing industries in the country has said the purpose is to improve ties between public sector and private businesses.

Uzoka-Anite, who began the four-day tour today will visit some industries in Lagos, Ogun and Kano states.

The Minister will also visit governors of identified states to strengthen the relationship between the federal and state government.

“We shall be visiting several leading manufacturing companies and plants, including Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc, Nigerian Bottling Company, Niger Biscuits Co. Ltd, and Beloxxi Industries Ltd, among others.”

She said, ” The aim is to draw attention to the amazing work being done in our manufacturing sector and the ways in which it affects our daily lives and economy. It is also to show the government’s steadfast backing for key sectors of the economy and our dedication to ongoing cooperation for expansion and advancement.

She noted that the visit is to also highlight the commitment of the employees and manufacturing workers that form the core of these businesses, creating superior made-in-Nigeria products that can confidently compete with foreign goods on the international market.

“This is a significant step towards recognising the hard work and achievements of our manufacturing sector. It’s also a call to action for further innovation, quality improvement, and competitiveness in the global market.

“The tour is more than just a collection of stops; it serves as a link between the aspirations of the government and the realities of the manufacturing industry. It is a recognition of the industry’s contribution to innovation.”
