The Director General South East Governors Forum, Senator Uche Ekwunife CON has procured and handed over a multi-million naira 14-seater vehicle to the Catholic Women Organization of St Joseph’s Catholic Church Nri, in Njikoka local government area of Anambra state.

This donation according to the 9th Senate Lawmaker is in fulfillment of a pledge that she made shortly after the 2023 general elections, to lessen the mobility constraints of the church in spreading the gospel and winning souls for the Most High God.

Receiving the new 14-Seater operational vehicle President of the CWO Mrs. Ezinne Anthonia expressed that the kind gesture explains why Senator Uche Ekwunife is different from contemporary politicians whose relationship with the society is exclusively tied to political advantage.

Reverend Father Prof Clement Ezeka who Presided over the mass specifically preached on the need to support leaders at various levels, especially those who have demonstrated total commitment towards good governance like Senator Uche Ekwunife.

“January is like this, who knows what will happen in March with Senator Uche Ekwunife’s unflinching support. On behalf of the parish, St Joseph’s Catholic Church Nri, I wish to appreciate Senator Uche Ekwunife for this show of magnanimity and generosity to the Church and the Catholic faithful at large.

“Senator, we will continue to pray for you, your business and political ambition. I also wish to congratulate the direct beneficiary Ezinne Anthonia Onuorah who is new as CWO President, yet was lucky enough to take delivery of this magnificent, brand new bus on behalf of the Church”, the Cleric said.

Thereafter, the parish priest blessed the vehicle in line with the Church tradition.

Senator Ekwunife while presenting the gift urged the congregation, as well as Christians all over Nigeria to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other leaders managing various institutions of government, noting that once our leaders get it right, the citizenry would be better for it.

Ekwunife reiterated her commitment to continue supporting the church, noting that the role of churches as the community of Christians in peaceful coexistence and good governance cannot be overemphasized.

She informed the congregation that though the bus has been donated to the CWO, it could equally be used for other important activities of the church to ensure optimal utilization.

“Society becomes more habitable when people make sacrifices. Thus far I have been consistent in playing my part. Today, I urge you to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), and other leaders of notable public institutions. Praying for our leaders is critical to ensuring a more fraternal coexistence, economic stability and rapid development.

“Just like the Bible says, it is our obligation to put our leaders in prayer, and this explains why I’m urging the Church to pray for Mr President, knowing that once he gets it right in the provision of sectoral needs, requests and expectations, Nigeria will get better.

“So far, he has not disappointed the electorates because his decisions from inception focuses on the Renewed Hope Agenda for which he campaigned and was elected president.
