Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Ika federal constituency, Mr. Victor Nwokolo has retained his seat for the fourth term.

Nwokolo was declared winner of last Saturday’s election by the Returning Officer, Prof. O.E. Osafili, at the collation center in Agbor.

Osafili said Nwokolo polled 27,973 votes to beat the Labour Party candidate, Uwanne Utomi who scored 20,437 votes while Doris Uboh of the All Progressive Congress (APC) scored 9,878 votes.

Similarly, the PDP candidate for Isoko federal constituency, Jonathan Ukodhiko was also declared winner on Tuesday morning in Oleh.

Ukodhiko, the immediate past Commissioner for Energy in Delta State, polled 23,487 votes to defeat his closest rival, Dickson Ebegbare of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) who scored 21,416 votes.

Ukodhiko will be a fresher in the National Assembly, as he would replacing a former Minority Leader of the House, Leo Ogor who spent 20 years in the Green Chamber.

Reacting to the development, Ukodhiko said he was humbled by the result and thanked Isoko people for their unflinching support since he declared for the race. 

He applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the elections. 

“We thank God for the victory and we dedicate it to the good people of Isoko Nation for entrusting us with their mandate and I can assure them that we will make good use of this opportunity to unite Isoko and bring development to our people,” he said.
