First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has underscored the importance of patriotism and self-belief among Nigerians during a meeting with the Ambassador of Turkey, Hidayet Bayraktar, at the State House in Abuja.

 

In a statement released by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, Mrs. Tinubu expressed optimism about Nigeria’s untapped potential, emphasising the need for citizens to appreciate the abundant blessings bestowed upon the country.

 

During the meeting, she commended Turkey’s interest in fostering closer ties with Nigeria and Africa as a whole, expressing gratitude for the support and collaboration.

 

She highlighted Nigeria’s imminent rise on the global stage and the country’s forthcoming contributions to the international community.

Bayraktar, in turn, shared Turkey’s eagerness to enhance partnerships with Nigeria, particularly in areas such as security, energy, construction, and healthcare.

 

He proposed the establishment of a Turkish hospital in Nigeria to reduce medical tourism and emphasised the role of the entertainment industry in promoting cultural exchange between the two nations.

 

Bayraktar also conveyed the interest of the First Lady of Turkey in attending the upcoming Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD) Nigeria’s campaign launch, #We Are Equal, scheduled for Monday, May 13, 2024.

 

This event aims to promote gender equality and empowerment across Africa, reflecting the shared commitment to progress and development.
