Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, on Wednesday, condoled with the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir, over the death of his mother, Hajiya Aminatu Mai Babban-daki.
Lalong described the death of Babban-daki as a great loss not only to Katsina State but the country in general.
The governor said he was at the palace to extend the heartfelt condolence of Plateau Government and its people.
He prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The deceased died on Saturday in Katsina at the age of 90.
She is survived by nine children, five males and four females, among whom is the Emir.
The deceased was buried at the royal cemetery on Sunday in accordance with Islamic injunctions. (NAN)
