The paramount ruler of Ladaba, Lagos State, Oba Nureni Sikiru Odedina Alugbin, has appealed to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to help fix the road that leads to Ladaba and other 60 communities in the area. He said the appeal became necessary as he celebrates his first coronation anniversary on February 24, 2024.   

He said residents especially, during the rainy season, experienced difficulty plying the road: “The help my people desire now own is for Lagos State Government to fix the road.

“The road from Eleran-Igbe to Ladaba, Toomu to Oke Abe,Ipesun, Gadangba and its environs is not motorable. That has affected motorists and travellers from accessing the road.

“It is horrible plying the road that leads to my town. This has often affected the development of many of the communities in the area.

“Residents of Ladaba and other adjoining towns now find it very difficult to travel along that stretch of the road, because it is a hell traveling along the road. We are always subjected to prolonged pain trying to move in and out of the community.

“As I celebrate my first anniversary as the royal father of Ladaba town, I appeal to Governor Sanwo-Olu to help construct the road before the anniversary. That will be the greatest gift for me from the governor.

On the anniversary, Oba Alugbin said eminent members of the town would be honoured with various chieftaincy titles and certificates presented to them: “All arrangements have been concluded by the planning committee.

“The governor will be the Chief host, while the Aare-Onakakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Adams will be chairman of the day.”

Royal fathers of the day, include Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi; Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Lawal; Oba of Epe, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun; Oba of Noforija, Oba Babatunde Odulaja and Ayangbunren of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Sotobi.
