The Governing Board Council of the Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero (KSUSTA) has screened 14 applicants vying for the position of Vice-Chancellor of the University.

The screening exercise, conducted at the University premises, was overseen by the Council Chairman, Dr Haliru Bala, also the Pro-Chancellor of the University.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the institution Mallam Mustapha Mansur Ango confirmed the development in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.

“The screening exercise was conducted under the able leadership of Hon Dr. Haliru Bala, the Pro-Chancellor of Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aleiro,” Ango stated. “This is a pivotal selection process for the position of Vice-Chancellor.”

He emphasized the transparency, fairness, and efficiency of the selection process, highlighting Dr. Bala’s extensive academic experience and the anticipated success of the process.

Ango explained that the Council Chairman meticulously oversaw the selection process, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and sincerity.

“Fourteen distinguished Professors from various reputable institutions (universities) including Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Kebbi State University of Science and Technology Aleiro, Bayero University Kano, and Base University Abuja, were all given 10 minutes to present their candidacies for the esteemed position,” he said.

He listed the interviewed candidates: Prof Abubakar Yakubu (KSUSTA), Prof Bala Muhammad Yauri (UDUS), Prof Sule Sahabi Manga (KSUSTA), Prof LU Mohammed (KSUSTA), Prof BG Dan-Shehu (UDUS), Prof Bello Umar Faruk (UDUS), Prof SS Noma (UDUS), Prof BS Malami (UDUS), Prof MA Maikasuwa (KSUSTA), Prof AB Muhammad (UDUS), Prof Ibrahim R Muhammad (BUK), Prof Rufat Aliyu Yauri (Base University, Abuja), Prof SU Gulumbe (UDUS), and Prof. damu Muhammad (KSUSTA).

Ango emphasized the fairness and transparency of the process, ensuring equal opportunity for each applicant to present their vision for the University.
