According to him, what Obi needs now to endear himself more in the hearts of the people of Nigeria is an act that would not snowball into the destruction of lives and property.

The Federal University Pro-Chancellor said the LP Presidential candidate should not think about himself alone in this circumstance but should also think about his region, the South East and Nigeria in taking any decision.

He expressed concerns that Obi’s action would go a long way to determine where the South East would be in the political equation of Nigeria, just as he commended him for positioning the Igbos strongly in Nigeria’s political discourse.

He said, “l want to congratulate the leader of my party, the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. l also will use this opportunity to congratulate Mr Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party for his forthrightness and resilience in the election.

“I will appeal that he congratulates the winner of the Presidential poll as l believe sincerely that such a good gesture would endear him more to the hearts of the Obidient Movement and Nigeria at large. He should know that any decision that he takes in this circumstance has a high propensity to affect NIgerians, especially the South Easterners positively or negatively.

“In this regard, it is pertinent that l call the eminent political sons and daughters of the South East political extraction to call their son, Peter Obi on the need to see the bigger picture for the interest of “ndi Igbo” and Nigerians.

“To my party, the APC and the President-Elect, Asiwaju l will also appeal that they should do everything humanly possible to reach out to Peter Obi and all concerns in the interest of the country. The outcome of this election should be one to be considered as there is no victor and no loser, as Development of Nigeria should be paramount.”
