Idia Ize-Iyamu, wife of the PDP candidate, who voted at the same venue with Oyegun, had earlier told journalists that her husband had bright chances.
She had accused the APC of financially inducing voters, and intimidating those who turned down their wish.
“He is definitely going to win because most of the people collecting the money were saying they will collect the money and vote PDP,” she had said.
“The APC people have threatened to beat them after the election, but the people are motivated. I got here around 6:30, and I saw a lot of people. Many are saying today is the end of APC in Edo state.”
With results trickling in, Obaseki and Oyegun are in a neck-to-neck race.
