The IREDE Foundation in partnership with Action for Change and Empowerment (ACE) in an exciting mood came together in the week to celebrate its Limbs Empowerment Project Handover.

Held at the Foundation’s Office in Lagos, the session marked a significant milestone in the journey to empower champions (child amputees) with the gift of mobility and hope.

In pursuant to its 2023 goal to empower 200 champions, the Executive Director of The IREDE Foundation, Mrs. Crystal Chigbu, who expressed gratitude reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to making a significant difference in the lives of the champions.

She affirmed that the collaboration between TIF and ACE has provided champions not only with prosthetic limbs but also a sense of belonging, self-confidence, and the belief that they can achieve anything they decide to do for mankind especially children with such special needs.

“This partnership serves as a beacon of light, demonstrating the tremendous impact that can be achieved when individuals and businesses unite with compassion” she maintained.

On his part, the Director of ACE, Mr Agboola Obanubi, who gave Child amputees thumbs-up for their unwavering strength and optimism, encouraged them to use their prosthetics as tools for achieving excellence in various aspects of life, from school to sports.

Obanubi who averred that his organisation and Irede would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that an inclusive environment is created for champions and other children with disabilities to thrive, reminded them to aim high, strive for excellence, and never be daunted even in the face of unpleasant situations.

“ACE and The IREDE Foundation would stand by their side as you continue to excel” he avowed.

Some of the Caregivers shared how, prior to the assistance of prosthetic limbs, the daily activities of child amputees were limited- but going forward, the champions can effectively manage domestic chores, excel in school, and even participate in sports. “This transformation has brought a positive change to us and the champions,” they posited.
