A coalition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has backed the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria’s People Party (NNPP), Uche Ben Odunzeh, in the November 11 poll.

The leader of the group, Anthony Amadi, said their decision stemmed from the manifesto of Odunzeh which is to address insecurity, provide free education and revamp the economy.

According to him, the entire leadership of the Coalition group in the 27 Local Government Areas and 305 wards in Imo State have collapsed into NNPP.

He maintained that Odunzeh as a youth understands better the plights of Imo youths in the state as well as the masses in general.

Some of the leaders in attendance included Eze Nnanna leader and representative of Okigwe zone, John Bosco representative for Orlu zone while Isaac Onuekwusi representative of Owerri zone.

“His campaign manifesto is simply the best on how to help address critical socio economic matters.

“We know amongst the candidates that Hon Uche Ben Odunzeh is more on the ground, very friendly, more accessible and acceptable.

“The candidate is not just capable and qualified, but very prepared and well equipped to govern Imo.

“We have confidence in Hon Uche Ben Odunzeh as one with capacity, integrity and excessively loved by the grassroots.”

Barr Amadi stressed that their group comprising eggheads from the three zones, are optimistic that we their support Odunzeh will emerge victorious and call on Imolites to vote for him during the upcoming election.

An APC chieftain Eze Nnanna, said: “Today, APC and PDP are dead in Okigwe zone. We have resolved to collapse our structures in the zone into NNPP and to work for the victory of Hon Odunzeh. Odunzeh symbolises the hope of the ordinary people in Imo State.

“Odunzeh is the youngest, tested and trusted and he has the majority support of the people who voted Sen Hope Uzodinma to become APC candidate,” he asserted.
