A couple of days back, a steamy video of actress, Peju Ajiboye and Dauda Sulaimon aka Gida having sex on the set of a movie, Alagbere was leaked. And in a twinkle of any eye, the video, which is about a minute long, went viral and sent tongues waging.

While some fans gave the actress knocks for the role, others commended her guts. However, Entertainer caught up with the actress recently and she said that she has no regrets for playing such raunchy role.

A steamy clip of you and a colleague, Gida having sex in a movie has gone viral. How do you feel playing such a role?

Well, point of correction. We did not have sex, it was just make-belief. When I was given the script to play the role, I had no choice but to take it because it’s my job and I have to do it perfectly; that’s what role interpretation is all about.

Did you consider the controversies surrounding the role before you picked it up?

It’s my job and I knew a lot of people would criticise me, but do you know what, stardom comes with insults and I was surely ready for it. However, I don’t know why people are taking it so personal because everyone saw what happened in the video. For me, as a professional, I think it is only expected that I should be able to play any role given to me and that’s actually what I did. People should just mind their business and let me be!

Did you enjoy playing the role?

I read the script and it was a good story and that was why I took it up.

The scene was really hot! How did you feel when Gida kept slamming against you on that bed?

I felt absolutely nothing. A lot of people saw the video and they could see the director, the cameraman and a whole lot of other people who were with us, so they should know that it was purely make-belief. The character I played was a wayward housewife, so I just had to give them what they wanted.

Many are of the opinion that your partner, in the heat of the moment, got carried away with his character. How true is this?

(Laughter) That’s not true. I don’t know why people don’t mind their business. As you can see, we were all playing and laughing after the scene, and my partner was not carried away.

Some people believe that after playing such roles, the actors hook up behind the scenes to actualise the role they just played. How factual is that?

That’s not true. And let me tell you, there’s no big deal in the role we both played in the movie. After that scene, I still did like five more scenes before going to bed that night, because I was playing the lead role. After the shoot around 2am, I was so tired I just had to hit the sack. So, how could we have had time to go ‘do it for real?’

How has the guy been relating with you after the sex video went viral?

Very funny! Gida is my good friend, so how do you want us to relate? We relate and communicate very well like the good friends that we are. After all, we’re not the first set of people to play this kind of a role and sure we won’t be the last. It’s my job and I have to make it real.

What  were your parents’ reaction to the viral video?

I’m sure they didn’t really see it. It was my sister that reacted when she saw it on Instagram. She called me and I explained to her that it was just acting and nothing more.

I believe you have seen the comments from Nigerians on social media, how do you react to that?

It’s normal for people to insult and criticise you but I don’t care. It’s my job and not theirs so they should mind their business and stay out of my life! Though, this is my first time of playing such a role, I don’t see it as a big deal. In fact, it’s nothing. It was just acting and nothing more.

If you were given this character would you still play it?

I’ll do it over and over again. Like I said before, there’s no big deal in the role I played. Those that know me know I don’t joke when it comes to my job. I always give my producers and directors the very best of me.

Where will we see you in the next couple of years careerwise?

God willing, I see myself everywhere for good. One thing I’ve promised myself is to always do my best to entertain my fans.
