Pandemonium broke out in Ekiti, on  Wednesday night, as a yet-to-be identified gunmen invaded the home of the Treasurer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Moses Adeoye, and shot him dead.

Adeoye was killed while eating at his residence in Otun-Ekiti, a town in Moba Local Government Area of the state.

He had served as the chairman of the APC in the local council before his recent emergence as the party’s Treasurer in the state.

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer in Ekiti State, Caleb Ikechukwu, said the police had launched investigation into the case.

According to Ikechukwu, “The case has already been reported with the police and our men have swung into action.

“We have started our investigation to make sure the perpetrators are arrested.

“We commiserate with his family and assured the people of Ekiti state that the police are on top of this matter.”

The state’s Public Relations Officer of the APC, Ade Ajayi, described his death as “sad.”

Ajayi said the deceased was on the entourage during Governor Kayode Fayemi’s ‘Thank You’ visits to Ekiti North and South Senatorial Districts in Ido and Ikere-Ekiti on Wednesday.
