Dr. Grace Adagba, Chairman, Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has vowed to reposition the board for more  achievements.

Under her stewardship, Benue SUBEB has embarked on a comprehensive agenda of reform, encompassing infrastructure development, teacher capacity building, curriculum enhancement, and community engagement. From the refurbishment of schools to the introduction of innovative teaching methodologies, her leadership has heralded a new era of progress and innovation in the State’s educational system.

Since she took over the mantle of leadership on December 15, 2023, the Benue SUBEB boss has taken it upon herself to reposition the board through the payroll automation system to ensure accuracy of data, staff data digital verification to ascertain the number of staff under the board which will pave way for employment, building of the executive chairman’s office at the Board headquarters, Makurdi, renovation of four blocks at the board headquarters, created the departments of digital resource center,  physical planning and technical services, and teacher development.

Others are the drilling of borehole at the board’s headquarters, repair of eight abandoned vehicles, steady power supply at the board’s headquarters, distribution of instructional materials to all 23 Local Government Education Authorities, ensures prompt payment of salaries to staff , implementation of promotion and incremental steps as well as abolition of arbitrary deductions on staff payroll, capacity building for teachers, quality assurance and donation of cash to outstanding teachers in the course of the supervision  exercise.

Also, she appointed five female directors towards achieving gender sensitivity and inclusiveness policies, renovation of perimeter fence at the board’s headquarters, ensured the timely approval and release of funds for matching grant by the state government for basic education projects, approval of funds for quality assurance monitoring to cover for two school terms, equipping the department of digital resource centre, established the early childhood care development centres in all public primary schools in the state and facilitated the Dubai trip of public school pupils who emerged second position in a National Debate.

“Our journey has only just begun, but together, we will continue to strive for excellence and build a better future for the next generation,” she said.
