Daniel Amokachi, who is being put forward by some influential politicians to assist Finidi George in the Super Eagles, could now be considered to lead the U23 national team.
Finidi is clear he wants to choose those to assist him and Amokachi is not one of them.
Head coach of the U23s is a post ‘The Bull’ Amokachi has previously held.
He also assisted Stephen Keshi, when Nigeria won a third AFCON in South Africa in 2013, and has also led by the CHAN Eagles.
Eagles because he has for many years not been on the sidelines as coach.
He was until recently a Presidential aide on sports in the previous Federal Government administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Some very powerful politicians are pushing for Amokachi to assist Finidi, but if that failed, he may be considered to lead the U23s,” a source told SCORENigeria.
