George Onyejiuwa, Owerri

The son of former Military Administrator of Edo and Ekiti states, Tony Onyearugblem jr, has thrown his weight behind the directives of President Muhammadu Buhari to security agencies to ruthlessly deal with ballot-box snatchers during the elections, describing the act as sabotage against the will of the people. He said it might spark off a crisis which could result in loss of innocent lives.

He has admonished Ndigbo to support the re-election bid of the president as doing that holds the key to the ectualisation of an Igbo man becoming the president in 2023.

Onyearugblem who is the gubernatorial candidate of the Freedom and Justice party in Imo State said that it was only a patriot like President Buhari who could give such tough directives to the security agencies to ensure that ballot boxes were not snatched by political thugs on the day of the election.

“So, I am in support of President Buhari’s directives to security agencies against the snatching of ballot boxes by political thugs engaged by desperate politicians to cause mayhem and with the intention of subverting the will of the people.

“We should support the re-election of Buhari because his reforms are beginning to yield fruits and the country has exited from the recession and I am sure if he is re-elected, the country will be better for it.”
