The leadership of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has appealed to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, not to return to Nigeria at this moment.

They said that although Kanu has every right to return to the country, his coming back might expose many youths in the South East and South South region to life-threatening danger, especially now that the military was planning the third phase of Operation PYTHON DANCE.

The OYC was reacting to the pro-Biafra leader’s broadcast at which he said that he would be returning to the country anything time soon to continue his struggle for the actualization of the State of Biafra.

According to the group, “Our primary interest is to protect the interest of the younger generations of Ndigbo.

“It’s very unfortunate that we have lost a lot of lives during the first and second Python Dances.

“Nnamdi Kanu has a right to return to Nigeria. But we would have pleaded with him to before coming back liaise with credible stakeholders in the South East leaders to receive him properly and also ensure that the federal government will give him presidential pardon like the way they gave to Odumegwu Ojukwu.

“This is especially so, so that there will be no loss of lives. His coming back at this point that politics is about taking place may not augur well for our people.

“We will plead with him to hold on a little bit until the coast is clear so that when he returns, we will join his family and Ndigbo to receive him”, they added.
