WIKKI Tourists captain, Mustapha Ibrahim, has dismissed with a wave of the left hand Rangers NPFL leadership, declaring that the Flying Antelopes would be dethroned this weekend.

The right back submitted that he is positive that his side would climb back to the summit.

The Bauchi – based side was held to 1-1 draw at Tornadoes last Sunday during their matchday 27 clash at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja.

The Minna outfit took the lead through her danger man, Kunle Isa in the 22nd minute while the former Giwa FC captain and central midfielder, Charles Henlong levelled scores for Wikki.

The Tourists are now second on the top-flight log with 44 points two behind league leaders, Enugu Rangers.

But Ibrahim has enthused that his side are not disappointed with the draw at Tornadoes as it merely leaves the side just two points behind Rangers, adding that they would map out a strong strategy to outwit this weekend’s opponent Abia Warriors.

“We have quickly regrouped and mapped out plans on our next match against Abia Warriors to enhance our return to the top spot,” said the defender.

Continuing, he reiterated their resolve to put behind the outcome of the last match and focus on how to climb back to the top. “We have to thank God for the draw at Niger Tornadoes, at least, we did not lose the whole three points at stake, even though we have dropped to the second spot.

“I’m sure our stay on the number two spot will be brief as we are determined to walk ourselves back to the summit. There is nothing to worry about as we know how to navigate our way back to the top. The draw we secured in Lokoja was not in anyway a bad result.”
