United States of America (USA) based patron of Rangers, Benson Ejindu has given a pat on the back to Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for taking quick steps to stop the poor run of Rangers this term with the appointment of Christian Chukwu as new General Manager of the club.

Ejindu in a telephone chat with Daily Sunsports said it was obvious the Flying Antelopes needed a person like Chukwu to turn things around ahead of their continental campaign which starts this month.

“Rangers didn’t start the season on a good note and something needed to be done. Its good the governor acted fast before they start their continental campaign. Getting Chukwu to drive the campaign is good because he has the experience and pedigree. Chukwu is the face of Nigerian football. He has tasted success both as player and coach and he will take Rangers far as an administrator,” Ejindu said.

The North Carolina based Rangers boss said he would reward the team with N2m should they lift the CAF Champions league trophy.

It would be noted that he (Ejindu) had last December thrown a bash for the club in Enugu and rewarding the players and coaches with N1.5m for emerging NPFL champions.

Rangers were last weekend held to a 1-1 draw at home by Niger Tornadoes. They had in their very first game of the season lost at home to Abia Warriors.
