The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) will embark on a one month break after matchday 32 fixtures this weekend.

The league organiser stated that the four weeks holiday became necessary to allow former champion, Rivers United conclude its outstanding matches.

Rivers United currently has five outstanding matches due to its continental engagement. The Port Harcourt based side was eliminated from the CAF Confederation following a 2-1 aggregate defeat against USM Algiers in the quarterfinals.

Rivers United defeated Katsina United 2-0 on Thursday and currently 12th on the NPFL table with 40 points from 26 matches.
