Assistant Inspector General of Police, Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Alagbon Annex, Lagos, Mr Idowu Owohunwa, has promised to give the department a new look, warning hoodlums to  “repent for this Yuletide period.

“FCID personnel are out to checkmate hoodlums during, before and after the Yuletide. I have lectured my officers to apply professionalism in carrying out their duties. The operatives of FCID arrested a notorious drug courier, Justine, recovering large quantity of substances suspected to be Canadian Loud with estimated street value of over N150 million.  An undercover operation intercepted the courier at Lekki Phase One, Lagos.

“My vision and mission will be to sanitise the department, train and re- train officers on how to conduct investigation properly. In early 80s and 90s, FCID Alagbon was the best in terms of investigation in the Nigeria Police Force. We had the best personnel who passed through each department.

“Today, they are the best officers serving the nation honourably. FCID Alagbon Annex remains the mother of all investigation units such as Homicide, Forensic, Legal and General Investigation.

“Officers are warned to shun corruption and imbibe community policing. If any officer is involved in corruption, he will be disciplined according to the Police Regulation Act. I have sent strong signal to hoodlums to stay clear from FCID Alagbon, because it will be too hot for them.”
