In the spirit of the yuletide, Hope Raiser Global Foundation has distributed food items to some indigent residents of Guzape community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja

The hard-to-reach village located on a mountain of one of the high brow areas of Abuja metropolis has been in existence for decades with little or no assistance from government or well meaning Nigerians.

But the foundation with the mission to fight hunger, poverty, lack and to encourage guiding principles centered on Discover, Educate, Empower, Deploy, (DEED) reached out to people in the community with food items including rice, groundnut oil, spaghetti among others.

Its Chief Executive Officer, Angonimi David-Imeh during the outreach, yesterday, stated that some of their partners including Onome Food Market, CHATS (Convexity Humanitarian Aid Transfer Solutions), The Joyce Daniels Organisation among other individuals had located the community to put smiles on the faces of the settlers.

She said “It was an epic journey but a worthwhile exercise as we eventually got to interact with and provided for people in a place far away from reality.”

David-Imeh mentioned that the gesture is in line with current economic crunch that has led to massive impoverishment with severe impact on the Internally Displaced Persons, Less Privileged and Underserved Communities.

She said “Statistics has shown that even average earners have fallen below poverty lines and now competing with the very low income earners/non earners like the displaced persons.”

According to her, the initiative was to commemorate the 2023 Yuletide Outreach themed: ‘A Christmas With Hope’, an initiative aimed at supplying food stuff to a specific number of households through a technologically driven medium, saying about 320 homes were reached.

A member of the community, Joy Gift while beaming with joy expressed her happiness saying this is the first time they are receiving such gesture. She said “this is a pleasant surprise please don’t forget to back and visit us again ”
