Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Prince Chibudom Nwuche has been adopted as the leader of Orashi region  of Rivers State.
The youths under the auspices of Leaders of the Orashi Progressives Generation (UPG) an umbrella body of various groups, tribes and associations in the Orashi region enumerated series of achievements of the former lawmakers and dividends of democracy he has brought into the region.
Orachi comprises of Ahoada East, Ahoada West, Abua/Odual and ONELGA with over 15 different tribes and kingdoms including Ekpeye, Abuah, Odual, Engenni, Ogbogolo, Igburu, Usomini, Igbuduya, kugbo, Emago, Ndoni, Upata, Igbuduya, Ubie, Akoh, Egi etc
Spokesman of the group, Mr. Blessed Oyagiri told Nwuche that they were in his residence “to convey the unanimous opinion and resolve of the entire people of Orashi to adopt and confer on him the status of the leader of the area.”
Prince Nwuche thanked the people for the recognition and the honour and promised to continuously work selflessly for the general good of the people of Orashi.
He urged the people to remain peaceful and ensure that government property and oil facilities located in their communities were protected despite the obvious neglect of the region by past governments.
He urged them  to support the present administration under President Muhammadu Buhari who he said was  determined to address the long neglect of the region in terms of infrastructure and human capital development and restore hope to the people of the region, as evidenced by the commencement of the long forgotten Ogoni clean up.
Also speaking, Mr Godknows Alamins particularly thanked Nwuche for being instrumental to the realisation of the Obedum/Emirikpoko/Adada road in Abua/Odual LGA which has brought succour to the people of the area who were before now cut off from the rest of the sate for decades.
