The Federal Government, yesterday, said work will commence on the Lagos –Ibadan Expressway by Monday.
Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola disclosed this at a town hall meeting to render the stewardship of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in Abuja.
Fashola said government was working out formalities and standards for the smooth implementation of its mass housing plan as he decried on-going vandalism of  oil pipelines, expressing the determination of government to deliver on steady power supply in the country.
Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, on his part, said his ministry has put a mechanism in place to track the  efficient implementation of the 2016 budget in tune with the Change Agenda of the government and appealed to Nigerians for patience.
The event, tagged “Buharimeter” was packaged by Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD).  Other ministers, including Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief  Audu Ogbeh; Environment, Mrs. Amina Mohammed and Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, gave accounts of their stewardships.
CDD Executive Director, Idayat Hassan, in her remarks, said ‘government has given us what they have been doing, and, most importantly, the citizens had engaged government on what they have been doing in the past one year.
‘‘The level of citizenry, the kind of questions they post are commendable on the part of the citizens.
‘‘Going forward, we cannot afford to relent, we will continue to hold them accountable until they deliver on their electoral promises.’’
She said the event will hold every six months.
