Dr. (Mrs.) Ogelue Ezeife-Ugorji, the eldest daughter of first civilian governor of Anambra State, the late Chief Chukwemeka Ezeife, has revealed the reason behind her father’s strong and unwavering support for the actualisation of political ambition of the 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi.

She made the disclosure in the heartfelt tribute she made at her late father’s commendation service in Awka.

Ezeife-Ugorji stated that her father, lovingly called Okwadike, believed that Obi could bring about a more united and fairer Nigeria.

She described her father as a man known for his unwavering commitment to justice and equity. She added that her father held justice and equity in high regard.

Ezeife-Ugorji also shared her last conversation with her father during Okwadike’s trip to the United States, where he expressed his conviction that Peter Obi would build a nation based on the principles of justice and equity.

She stated further that Okwadike was a true symbol of unity, a wise man, and an advocate for peace, which transcended tribe and religion. The commendation service was attended by prominent figures, including Anambra State governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, and Ohanaeze Ndigbo President, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, who paid tributes to the legacy of Ezeife.

The roll call also included former governor of Enugu State, Okwesilieze Nwodo; and ex-governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chris Ngige.
