The two chieftains of the APC, Ben Eyororokumo and Clever Lawrence were inaugurated as special advisers on Inter-Party Relations and ICT Development respectively in the cabinet of Governor Dickson.

The commissioner explained during his maiden media briefing in Yenagoa that the decision to appoint the APC chieftains was informed by the need to unify the people of the state and focus on development challenges. Obuebite noted that the appointment was an historic one in which the governor showed his magnanimity and interest in operating an open door policy on issues of the state.

“The elections are over. The time for development is now. Governor Dickson has shown it with the appointment of the APC chieftains. He has shown that he is not only a governor for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but a governor for all indigenes and stakeholders in the state.”

On the contentious issue of unpaid salary arrears of civil servants, Obuebite appealed for understanding, assuring that the state government is doing everything humanly possible to ensure that workers’ salaries are paid.
