The Igbo community in the 19 Northern states and Abuja say they are mobilising 800,000 votes to support the Katsina State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr Dikko Umar Radda, for the February 7 gubernatorial polls.

“Our support for Dr Radda stems from the fact that he is a destabilised politician and that is why we call on all the Igbo residents in Katsina State to collect their Permanent Voters Cards and vote massively for the former SMEDAN Director-General,” the union’s President, Sir Ikechukwu Chukwunyere, told a press conference at the Government House on Tuesday.

According to Chukwunyere, “Radda’s experience as the erstwhile APC National Welfare Secretary and also former Chairman of Charanchi Local Government Council and two-time Caretaker Chairman of the same Local Government Area have endowed him with a great wealth of experience and knowledge to pilot the affairs of Katsina tho greater heights.

“We hereby pass a vote of confidence on Dr Radda because he is vibrant, well articulated and sound to take up the baton of leadership from where Governor Aminu Bello Masari will stop.”
