The party had earlier this week, explained the decisions it took concerning the primaries conducted in the state, describing the governor as a bad loser.

However reacting to a furious attack from the Ogun governor on Friday, the National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, noted that the ruling party has high regard for the governor as a chieftain of the party.

Speaking to Saturday Sun, the ruling party’s spokesperson said: “Whatever he may have said, I won’t want to join issues with him because he is one of our leaders. I have stated the position of the party and we are very sure that at the end of the day, the governor will understand why we had to take the decision we took.

“More importantly, I have no iota of doubt that at the end of the day, the issue will be resolved amicably. Both parties will find a common ground. We have so much respect for him and won’t exchange words with him,” the spokesperson noted.
