The victims of the recent windstorm in Agbashi community, Doma Local Government, have received much-needed assistance in the form of cash donations and building materials worth millions of Naira.

Alhaji Ibrahim Olose, Chairman of the distribution committee, stressed on the significance of the aid during the distribution exercise held at Agbashi on Saturday.

“The relief materials distributed to over two hundred households are a response to the devastating Windstorm which ravaged houses, worship centers, schools, and health facilities on April 2nd, 2024,” Alhaji Olose emphasized.

He further urged recipients to utilize the aid judiciously, stating, “The distributed items are given based on the needs assessment conducted on Agbashi, Iponu, Okpanya, Ole Gabogye, and Kaduna Bassa.”

Education Secretary of Ekye Development Area, Donald Epoh, who serves as the Secretary of the Committee, highlighted that worship centers and schools affected by the windstorm also benefited from the gesture, emphasizing the inclusive nature of the support provided.

The committee expressed profound appreciation to the donors, including Senator Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, Senator Ahmed Wadada, Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba, Musa Ibrahim, and retired Comptroller of Customs Joseph Attah, among others.

Expressing gratitude, beneficiaries Mr. Odawose Emmanuel and Enekwiri Abama Andrew thanked the donors for their timely assistance and implored the government to complement such efforts for the well-being of all affected individuals.

Daily Sun reports that the Committee also paid a visit to the palace of the Utushoho of Agbashi, Moses Alade, where they received blessings from the royal father, represented by the Owuse of Agbashi, Mr. Audi Otebo, further explained the communal unity and support in times of adversity.
