The Association of Lagos Titled Chiefs, a non-political association of honorary chiefs and prominent members of the Lagos Community who have served the state and the nation meritoriously, at its last regular meeting unanimously elected Chief Dr Sir Kesington Adebukola Adebutu,  the Asoju Oba of Lagos as the president of the association.

 

In a release signed by the secretary of the association, Chief Olawumi Gasper and made available to journalists, stated that the decision was unanimously taken in appreciation of the numerous contributions and philanthropical instincts of  Chief  Adebutu since inception and formation of the association.

Not that alone, the association also supported the choice of Mrs Opral Mason as the vice-president.

 

The statement further explained that the elevation and choice of the duo was sequel to the peaceful transition of  their former most cherished immediate past president, Chief Mrs Iyabode Muheenat Foresythe, the Iya Abiye of Lagos that occured in February this year.

 

Meanwhile, the association didn’t forget the efforts of the founding fathers and past presidents of the association, especially for their commitment and efforts in using themselves as a vehicle for promoting the development of the Lagos economy through its involvement in transforming the Lagos public and private sectors.

In his remark, the new President of the association, Sir  Adebutu, gave all the glory to the Almighty God for the privilege of being alive and available to serve at the leadership role of notable men and women of Lagos.

 

“I accepted the elevation with pride and I promised to give my best efforts to make members proud to have selected me.

 

Let me further re-affirmed that I would  hold dear this great position of trust and responsibility unanimously reposed in me by you all the titled Chiefs in Lagos,” Adebutu said.

 

The state also acknowledged the Oba of Lagos, Alayeluwa Oba Rilwan Akiolu, for the support to the association and for his personal interest in the development of Lagos communities.
