Sometimes these awards are named after a founding member of the organization, significant member or employee from the firm’s past, or a large contributor.
Some Awards are presented as thank you for a significant donation for a new facility, Impacts, expansion, research grant or the addition of new and much needed equipment.
Awards are given to celebrate the leadership of individuals or organizations who advance innovative solutions and demonstrate meaningful progress in a community, association. It recognize individuals and leaders who give, advocate and volunteer for positive change. Many times, these awards will honour a corporation or a corporate foundation that demonstrates outstanding commitment.
Often these awards are presented at an annual benefit or gathering for the organization. In addition to an individual being presented with an award, an additional plaque or duplicate award is often engraved to be displayed at the organization’s main office, either in the lobby or the main conference room. Below are five notable awards.
*The Academy Awards*
This prestigious international prize was established in 1929. Mother India (1957), Salaam Bombay (1988), and Lagaan (1990) are the Indian films shortlisted for the Oscars (2001). Bhanu Athaiya was the first Indian to win an Oscar for costume design in the Gandhi film in 1982. The Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences, USA bestows these awards yearly in appreciation of exceptional contributions in the many sectors of filmmaking.
*The Nobel Peace Prize*
THE NOBEL PRIZE is perhaps the world’s most prestigious, well-known, and well-known prize! Just very few hundred thousand people have ever received the Nobel Prize. These awards are granted in physics, chemistry, medicine, literature, peace, and economics. As if earning the Nobel Prize once wasn’t difficult enough, individuals including Marie Curie and Frederick Sanger earned it twice. Alfred Nobel, the creator of dynamite, sponsored these awards. How much does the Nobel Prize entail? At the moment, each reward is worth 9 million Swedish kronor (nearly one million US Dollars). When there are multiple victors, the award money is shared among them according to the Nobel Committee’s judgment.
*The Oscars*
The Academy Awards are indeed known as the Oscars. It is one of the most prestigious and awaited prizes in the film business. The trophy or prize is a gold-plated bronze figurine on a black metal structure. It is the highest honor a film actor or actress can get. The inaugural Academy Award ceremony was held in 1929 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Since 1929, several awards have been given out, with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presiding over the selection process.
The award’s goal is to acknowledge outstanding and industrious individuals and to give them the recognition they deserve. The award paved the path for the emergence of additional renowned prizes in the entertainment sector.
*Grammy Awards*
They are recognized as music’s biggest night. The Grammy Awards having been around in existence since 1959. It was once known as the Gramophone Award. In lieu of something like the Grammy Award, the term “Grammys” might be used. The Grammys is an award given by the United States National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS). The award’s goal is to acknowledge exceptional performance in the music business. The award ceremony includes several performances by notable and nominated musicians, as well as the presentation of prizes with the more public interest. It recognizes achievement in the music business in the same way as the Emmy Awards for tv, the Tony Awards for the live show, and the Academy Awards for picture films do.
*JOM Charity Award*
The award is presented annually to a company, group or individual who has saved, improved or enriched the lives of others or society as a whole, through self-sacrifice, selfless service, hands-on charitable or volunteer work, or other acts.
