From Judex Okoro, Calabar

Chairman Cross River State Former Legislators Forum (CRSFLF), Hon Nkanam Obo Nkpanam, has stated that the Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC),  Alh. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, if elected in 2023 would revitalize and reengineer the nation’s decades of import dependent economy.

Nkpanam, a former member of Cross River House of Assembly and House of Representatives aspirant in the just-concluded APC primaries, stated that the emergence of Tinubu has presented another ample opportunity  for us to consolidate, deepen and upscale tremendous achievements recorded so far under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in the last seven years.
In a statement made available to journalists in Calabar on Wednesday, Nkapnam described the former Governor as a great reformer and visionary leader who would apply Lagos model of development and strategy to tackle poverty, unemployment and insecurity amidst the humongous infrastructural deficits.
He said: “Tinubu has the professional and administrative expertise, political sagacity and political will to build on APC’s achievements infusing more vitality to ongoing policy drives/projects in agriculture, electricity, ease of doing business, railway transportation, road transportation
“We assure Nigerians that Tunubu’s Presidency would boost our capacity to refine our crude oil locally to end our decades of dependence on importation of refined petroleum products with the ongoing partnership with the private sector and other stakeholders for the construction of private refineries and ongoing total rehabilitation refineries.
“We are also sure APC-led government under Tinubu would  streamline modalities and strategies for attracting more investments in the petroleum industry and optimise the huge opportunities that the new Petroleum Industry Act, 2021, which President Buhari just signed into law, avails and then boost more revenue generation as well as job creation.”
Explaining that the Presidential candidate of APC is a detribalised personality, the
Chairman, Cross River State Former Legislators Forum said
Tinubu built bridges for ethno-religious and sectional solidarity needed to engender an inclusive Nigeria and national harmony.
“There is, therefore, a refreshing optimism for a greater Nigeria developmentally and otherwise under Tinubu’s leadership, by building upon Buhari’s rebuilding efforts through creative and strategic infusion of exceptionally cerebral/competent Nigerians into the nucleus all sectors of the economy and institutions.
“This would be achieved through strategic partnerships, bilateral and multilateral as well as constructive development oriented engagements/agreements,” he stated.
Hailing the choice of Sen. Kashim Shettima as the Vice Presidential candidate of the party, Nkpanam Shettima’s pivotal developmental milestones and achievements as governor of Borno state would speak for itself.
Enjoining Cross Riverians and Nigerians to vote massively for APC, he said: “Electing Tinubu-Shetima would launch Nigeria into a self-reliant and globally competitive economy and, indeed, an inclusive and virile palce.
