President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritising infrastructure development, particularly in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as a cornerstone of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He made this statement during the commissioning of the Extended Inner Southern Expressway (ISEX) from the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) to Southern Parkway S8/S9 in Abuja, which marked the fourth completed road project unveiled by the FCT administration within a year.

Represented by Vice President, Kashim Shettima, President Tinubu praised the FCT administration for their hard work and dedication in delivering critical road projects.

He expressed gratitude to Wike and his team for their commitment to making the road a reality.

Speaking at the event, which was attended by various dignitaries, the President said the newly commissioned ISEX extension represents a significant stride in bridging the urban-rural divide and driving economic growth across the nation.

According to a statement issued by the Vice President Media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, the President emphasised that the road symbolises connectivity, accessibility, and opportunity, and his administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that development reaches every corner of the nation.

President Tinubu expressed confidence that the collaborative efforts between the federal government and the FCT administration would yield more successes, enabling seamless movement of people and goods, while catalyzing economic activities nationwide.

The Minister of the FCT, Wike, thanked President Tinubu for honoring the invitation to commission the FCT inner road projects, noting that the event marked the 6th inauguration since the commencement of events marking the one year anniversary of President Tinubu.

He highlighted some of the projects completed within the one year of the Tinubu administration, including the completion of the first phase of the National Assembly complex and the rehabilitation of major roads within the city, totaling 170km.

Tajudeen Abbas; Minister of State for FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud; Chairman, Senate Committee on Social Welfare and Poverty Alleviation, David Jimkuta; Chairman, House Committee on FCT, Hon.
