At yesterday’s The Sun Newspapers Awards night, various awardees who spoke straight from the heart, individually expressed what the honour meant to them, with a good number of them suggesting that the gesture would spur them to do more for humanity.
Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, who was awarded Governor of the Year, informed that his administration had been able to transform the state into an investor’s destination. He said: “I want to thank the management of The Sun Newspapers for honouring us with this prestigious award. I am humbled and I do not take it for granted.
“Ogun Sate is the gateway to Nigeria’s prosperity. We have a comparative and competitive advantage over other states and we have made the state the investor’s destination of choice through the massive infrastructure that we have carried out.”
