At yesterday’s The Sun Newspapers Awards night, various awardees who spoke straight from the heart, individually expressed what the honour meant to them, with a good number of them suggesting that the gesture would spur them to do more for humanity.

Legal icon, Awa Kalu (SAN) while receiving his Lifetime Achievement award, thanked God for the honour, while renowned evangelist and philanthropist, Rev. Uma Ukpai, who was awarded for his immense contributions to the country’s development over the years, expressed gratitude to The Sun for the recognition.

Iconic actress and film producer, Ngozi Ezeonu, thanked The Sun for finding her worthy for the Nollywood Icon Award and her family for its support, and her numerous fans for all the encouragement given to her, while Tobi Bakre who was honoured alongside Ezeonu asked parents to encourage their children and wards to follow their passion in their career choices.
