In a recent turn of events, the Nasarawa football scene finds itself embroiled in controversy as allegations of unpaid dues and administrative interference surface, causing a stir among players and officials alike.

According to reports circulating on social media on Monday, stating that Nasarawa United players staged a protest against alleged interference from former club Chairman, Isaac Danladi. The players claimed they were yet to receive their bonuses and were denied payment for flight tickets, as ordered by the Nasarawa State governor.

However, in a telephone interview with our correspondent, Isaac Danladi, now serving as the Permanent Secretary of the Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, vehemently denied the allegations, labeling them as baseless and aimed at tarnishing his reputation.

Danladi clarified that while all player dues are being processed, the delay in disbursing match bonuses is due to government bureaucracy, awaiting the governor’s approval.

“The allegations are unfounded. How can I refuse to pay money that is still in the process? It’s an attempt to smear my reputation,” Danladi asserted.
