There was palpable anxiety at the headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the National Working Committee (NWC) members hold an emergency meeting to address myriads of leadership crisis rocking the ruling party.

The apprehension is expected considering controversial issues of multiple breach of party’s constitution, including failure to convene National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, the failure of the National Chairman and National Secretary, Abdullahi Adamu and lyiola Omisore, respectively, to account for their expenditure since assumption of office last year they assumed office, and the proposed expulsion of North West zonal chairman, Salihu Moh Lukman, on the table to be ironed.

The arrival of the North-West chairman, Lukman, in the early hours of the morning, contributed in heightening the tension, due to the impression that he may not want to be part of the meeting since he was accused of involvement in anti-party activities.

The meeting, currently going, however finally commenced around 12 noon with almost all the NWC members in attendance, and battle-ready security agencies barricading the entrance of the complex to avoid any form of breakdown of law and order.
