Palpable has enveloped the Aboh Mbaise / Ngor Okpala federal constituency following the ruling of the Appeal Court Owerri division barring the Independent National Electoral commission( INEC ) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from conducting a fresh election in Aboh Mbaise/ Ngor Okpala federal constituency of Imo state.

It would be recalled that the Peoples Democratic party had conducted a fresh re- run poll last Friday in which Engr Albert Agulanna had emerged as winner with fifty votes while his rival Dr Ugochukwu Uzoma garnered only two votes in obedience to a previous judgement of Appeal Court Owerri presided by Justice Rita Pemu which voided the early primary election and ordered for a fresh one with fourteen days .

But Justice Rita Pemu who upturned her earlier ruling yesterday barred both the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) from conducting a fresh primary election .

In giving orders, the Justice Pemu said, . ” accordingly, it is hereby ordered as follows, that the order of this honourable court made on the 20th of January, 2023, ordering a fresh primary election for Aboh Mbaise/ Ngor Okpala federal constituency of Imo State pending the hearing and final determination of the applicants appeal before the supreme court on the propriety of the said order of fresh primary be and is hereby stayed.

” Consequently, by this order, the first and second respondents are hereby restrained from enforcing in anyway whatever the judgement of this court delivered on 20th of January, 2023, by way of conducting a fresh primary election for Aboh Mbaise/ Ngor Okpala federal constituency.
