From Olanrewaju Lawal, Birnin Kebbi

Special Adviser to the Governor of Kebbi State, Ibrahim Andi Rumu, has appealed to the people, especially those from the Kebbi South senatorial district, to support  the administration of Governor Nasir Idris for rapid development of the state.

His call followed the governor’s appeal at the  Zuru Uhola Festival, where he charged the people, especially leaders in the area, to unite and support his administration for the progress of the state.

In a statement, the former member of the Kebbi State House of Assembly and former chairman of Zuru Local Government Area, expressed dismay over the inability of some individuals in the zone to team up and unite for a common goal of developing Zuru and Kebbi State.

“Any society that will develop, must have all its stakeholders working for a common goal, irrespective of their political affiliations, divergent views. The Zuru Emirate shouldn’t be different from other emirates in terms of collective support.”  Rumu, who applauded Governor Idris for his development blueprints, stressed that all the ongoing projects across the state were expected to cover all the local government areas soon,  with a view to transforming the entire state.

He, however, commended the governor for his support to the Zuru Emirate, especially in the area of security, agric sector and empowerment among others.

While appealing to the people of the emirate to support the administration, Rumu said: “It is high time individuals, groups of individuals, youths and women in the emirate unanimously came together to make Zuru Emirate a better zone.

“There is a need to rally round our Emir, Major-General Muhammadu Sani Sami (retd), Sami Gomo II, in his quest to actualise developmental projects in Zuru.”

Former chairman of Zuru LGA, warned saboteurs of Idris’ administration to be cautious of their actions, pointing out that, “any sabotage of this administration is a sabotage of the masses.

“These elements within or outside the state, who might be planning or strategising to disorganise the state should have a rethink, because your proposed actions would be resisted by God’s grace.”

He expressed satisfaction over the support given to the present administration by the Kebbi State House of Assembly under the leadership of the Speaker, Rt Hon Muhammad Usman Ankwe, stressing that the lawmakers’ unanimous and harmonious support would make Kebbi a better state.

Rumu, however, commended the state chairman of the APC, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammadu Kana Zuru for his unrelenting efforts to ensure the unity of the party and prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to ensure that Idris’ administration succeeds.
