Three teenage girls from Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State being trafficked to Ghana, have been rescued.

The girls whose names were given as Chinecherem Ogah from Ohatekwe Amagu, Favour Odor from Abina Amagu and Osinachi Nweke Umanyi from Ndioduma Omege Echara in the area, were rescued in Lagos by the Chairman of Ikwo Development Union, Lagos branch, Imeba Igwe.

They were allegedly trafficked by a woman from the area, Mrs. Abigail Nweke, and handed over to a Cross River woman whose name could not be immediately ascertained, for movement to Ghana.

The teenage girls reportedly left their different homes in January this year and were first taken to Lagos from where they were being moved to Ghana. Luck came their way as they were intercepted by immigration officers at the border.
