…calls for global partnership

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, has promised to raise a digital generation in the state that would champion technological “revolution” in Nigeria and beyond.

He, thus solicited the support of global leaders and players in the ICT world to ensure that the dream come to reality.

Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State on Innovation and Business Incubation, Ms Chinwe Okoli, made the pledge on behalf of the governor when she addressed the global innovation ecosystem leaders at the 40th International Association of Science Parks (IASP) world Conference which took place at Luxembourg.

She explained that IASP, is the leading association of innovation ecosystems worldwide, adding that the organization actively unites and empowers a network of managers overseeing areas of innovation, science parks, research parks, innovation districts, knowledge cities, and various other innovation spaces, and It’s the driving force behind the exchange of cutting-edge knowledge and best practices, propelling innovation on a global scale.

She said the three-day conference with the theme, “Mega Trend in Innovative Ecosystem: What are the Impacts for STPs and AOIs?” was a gathering of global innovation stakeholders from over 55 countries which presented an opportunity for the best innovation districts, science parks and areas of innovation in the world to connect and exchange best practices.

Ms Okoli, in a statement, stated that Solution Innovation District (SID) from Anambra State, Nigeria, was prominent in the conference as the governor’s aide addressed the conference on the topic: “Harnessing the untapped potentials of Anambra Digital Tribe: A Case for Developing Countries”.

She shared with the participants the transformative power of the Anambra State Government’s SID programme and highlighted the aspirations of the governor and efforts in nurturing a robust innovation ecosystem in the State which is necessary to unlocking new opportunities and drive technological progress towards making Anambra the digital and creative capital of Nigeria.

Ms Okoli, however, restated the commitment of the administration of Governor Soludo towards building the one -of -a kind district in Anambra State, adding “our mantra in Anambra State is everything technology and technology everywhere.

“At SID, we are activating and developing a dynamic and inclusive ecosystem of the future. Our focus is that in a very short time, Anambra will become the go-to place for the supply of skills/talents on deep technology, notably, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Robotics, Blockchain, Data Science, Software Engineering, IoT, Cloud Computing, etc

“We are also determined to impact the world from Anambra State in the biggest country in Africa. We would do digital magic with the Anambra digital generation,” she promised.
