The Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC) has urged exporters and importers to access Illela Border Information Centre in Sokoto State, in order to get information on business opportunities around the world.

Officer in charge of the NSC, Sokoto Area Office, Mr. Yusuf Maiunguwa, made the call in the state at the association’s meeting, yesterday.

Maiunguwa said the centre would soon be inaugurated as part of the Federal Government’s initiative to facilitate more trade opportunities, as well as ease of doing business across the country.

He appealed to statutory government agencies to always educate traders on their activities, in order to ensure smooth registration and other procedures, in accordance with the law.

Maiunguwa also added that the NSC is in touch with the’ association, so as to enhance business development through educating business owners as well as smoothening barriers.

Also speaking, Secretary of the association in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states, Alhaji Gazali Muhammad, said the association is vibrant and that informs its ability to conduct annual quarterly meetings.

Muhammad said members have participated in different trade seminars, and have equally attended government programmes on dry port and others.
