The former Minister of Defence General TY Danjuma on Thursday said that the task of securing our cultural heritage is a collective responsibility that should be taken seriously by everyone.

Danjuma said this in his hometown of Takum, in Takum local government area of Taraba State when a State delegation led by the Deputy Governor Alhaji Aminu Alkali visited him to extend invitation for him to Chair the 2024 edition of Nwunyo Fishing and Cultural festival scheduled for April 19th and 20th in Ibi Local government area of Taraba State.

The Nwunyo Fishing Festival is an annual event that attracts tourists from within and outside the country.

Danjuma applauded the State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas for his transformative initiatives in Taraba state including the revival of the Cultural festival and paying more attention tourism activities in the State.

The State delegation set up by Gov Kefas and led by H. E Alh Aminu Alkali, Deputy Gov of Taraba and Chairman planning Committee for Nwunyo Fishing Festival 2024, the Commissioner, ministry of Heritage and Ecotourism Mr Joseph Nagombe, the Aku Uka of Wukari, Chief of Ibi, CAN Chairman among others visited the General to extend the state’s invitation for him to Chair the occasion.

In his remarks, the deputy Governor noted that, Taraba state is very rich in culture and tourism and the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas is ready to harness it to full potential.
