His words, “In fairness, the benefits of the bill outweighs its demerits. We implore the Senate to understand the importance of the bill in contributing towards the socio-economic development and ecosystem sustainable of our country.

“The Senate, taking a cue from the House of Representatives that has passed it into law with due consultations with stakeholders, should know that passing the bill into law is for the benefit of all Nigerians towards effective, efficient and sustainable water resources management and contributing to the realisation of the SDG,” he added.

To facilitate the process, CSCSD Chairman, Board of Trustees, Rev. Fr. Patrick Ngoyi, called on the media to sensitise the public on the merits of the bill to national development and also allay the fears of those think that when passed, the bill would deprived them from having access to water for domestic and commercial use.
