Computers are tools that make work and study faster. Before now, students made use of typewriters, but with the advent of computers, things are done faster and with less stress.

The Education Report sought the opinion of students, if they were good in the use of computers.

Favour Ebhozele, an SS2 student of Prince Trinity Academy, Benin City, Edo State, said, “My school has a computer laboratory where students have practical classes. That’s the only time we are allowed to use the computer in school. I just started learning the basics of operating a computer like turning it on and off, but I am still learning how to type, save documents and draw.

Ebhozele added: “I can’t go for a computer competition now because I still have a lot to learn about the computer.”

Osaki Braide, an SS1 student of Whitefield High College, said: “I am computer-literate and I know how to operate the computer but not very well. Each time I go to the computer laboratory, I use the computer to draw or write letters. In my school, we have a computer teacher, who is a staff, and students are allowed to make use of the computer when the need arises.

“I would like to represent my school in a computer competition, if given the opportunity, and I know that I will put in my best for the competition.”
