Cristiano Ronaldo could miss an emotional reunion with Manchester United after being sent off on his Champions League debut for Juventus.

The forward was shown a straight red for an off-the-ball incident after 28 minutes of his side’s game at Valencia.

Television replays showed Ronaldo clashing with Jeison Murillo with the Juventus man appearing to pull the hair of the defender.

Ronaldo protested his innocence and his tears continued as he headed for the dressing room.

He will at least miss the home game against Young Boys but could miss the double-header against United if he is banned for three games.

Ronaldo had scored his first Juventus goals at the weekend in the 2-1 home win over Sassuolo.

His move from the Spanish giants came after he won his third Champions League in succession and fifth in total.

Juventus host Young Boys in a fortnight before travelling to Old Trafford to take on Jose Mourinho’s United.
