An all-women faith based organization, Women in Islam Network, has urged Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to represent the names of the 17 cabinet nominees to the Lagos State House of Assembly, saying, reasons for their rejection was not convincing enough.

A statement by the group’s president, Hajia Ramat Mohammed Abdur-Rahman, said the governor was in good position to know the good hands to work with him, more so when those rejected by the legislators were the ones he had worked with and trusted, reasoning that, not playing along with the governor would paint the legislators as playing politics with the fate of the people of Lagos State.

The group, therefore, urged the governor not to be cowed or intimidated into doing what he knew would not be in the good interest of the generality of the people and residents, adding that, the lawmakers should give priority to what would be in favour of the people at a time the governor has promised a better second term for the state.

Governor Olusola Sanwo-Olu had forwarded 39 names of cabinet nominees to the Assembly for screening and ratification but the Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Folashade Adefisayo, former information Commissioner, Mr Gbenga Omotoso, his health counterpart, Professor Akin Abayomi, adviser to Governor on Works and Infrastructure and 14 others were dropped.
