From Lateef Dada, Osogbo

The Traditional Religion Worshipers Association of Nigeria (TRWAN), have described the removal of fuel subsidy as a right decision by the government of President Bola Tinubu.

The President of TRWAN in Osun State, Dr Oluseyi Atanda, stated this in Osogbo during the medical outreach organized by the state executive to mark their two years in office.

The association declared their support for the decision, warning the government to be sincere and ensure that every Nigerian gets palliative care.

Fielding questions from Journalists during the outreach, Atanda said “We have seen what Ifa told us in its chapter – ‘Owonrin Okanran.’ it’s Ifa that said that the decision is the right decision, but the government should be sincere and do things the proper way.

“Ifa is emphasizing that this is the way to go and it may come with some pains and fears. But Ifa says that we shall all benefit from the honey and wine that will come from it. However, the government must also be sincere in this action they are taking,” he added.

Explaining the motive behind the medical outreach, Atanda said “We realize that over the last few months, sudden death as it affects everybody is also affecting traditionalists too and it has become a societal problem.

“We feel that traditionalists should also be aware that there is a need for them to check their blood pressure and know what is happening in their body.

“Ifa also emphasized that there’s a need for everybody to take care of their health. And even Ifa addressed the state government that the free health programme of the last administration was a good initiative. Government should do it from time to time and should invest more in preventive medicine,” Atanda said.
