About 923,486 candidates who sat for the May/June 2017 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) recorded five credits including English and Maths.
The Head of National Office of the WAEC, Nigeria, Mr. Olu Adenipekun, disclosed this in Lagos while announcing the release of the May/June 2017 school candidates examination at the council headquarters in Yaba, Lagos.
Adenipekun flanked by top management staff of the council said 1,559,162 candidates sat for the May/June 2017 WASSCE nationwide.
He disclosed that 1,471,151 candidates, representing 94.36 per cent have their results fully processed and released, while 95,734 others have few subjects still being processed due to errors traceable to the candidates in the course or registration or writing the examination.
The HNO also disclosed that results of 214,952 candidates, representing 13.79 per cent are being withheld for alleged examination malpractice.
He advised candidates to check details of their results on the council website: www:waecdirect.org using the result checker PIN and serial number on the flip side of candidates’ CIVAMPENS card issued to them by WAEC
